Teresa Rodgers, Building Engineer. Prior to becoming a building engineer, Teresa Rodgers was an Administrative Assistant to the Facility Manager. She performed all the tasks that are part of a “rolodex-engineer” without the engineering background. As a result of an unexpected audit by the FDA, there was a need for an on-site licensed boiler operator. Teresa was selected to obtain that license. Teresa then sought a 2-year (Associate Degree) in Commercial Building Maintenance and was immediately hired by Hines Interests (a global commercial real estate company). Teresa continued her education and enrolled in a 9-month certificate program at the university level for Facility Management. She currently holds the following trade licenses:
- Grade 3 Steam Engineer’s License
- Refrigeration Mechanic’s License
- Electrician’s O7 License
Teresa is also certified to do maintenance and confidence testing on fire pumps, emergency generators and smoke control systems.
Currently, she is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Sustainable Building Science Technologies.
